Job seekers often give inadequate attention to their visual appearance on line. I see many linkedin photos that are unflatteringly candid. It’s great to have a visually attractive resume, and as a compliment you need to have a visually attractive professional looking photo.
Both hiring managers and recruiters search on linked in and look at your photo. They ask themselves if they would hire someone who looked like you. So, no dogs or significant others should join you in the photo. And the background should not interfere with the picture.
With today’s excellent cameras you can see your photo instantly, approve it and upload it quickly to linkedin.
You might even like your photo enough to create a visual cv (curriculm vitae) which can be posted without cost online.
